So what do you do a 17 hour day after traveling round trip to NYC for a comic book show? Hit the El Bar for a rock show, of course. Our friends SICU were playing one of the last truly great dive bars in the city for their record release show. Upon taking the stage, they communicated their intentions to “simplify” things and did so with a 40+ minute punk set that made me smile.

Break Even crew members were in attendance at the Third Annual New York Comic Con this weekend. It was a long day of meeting and speaking with creators in the industry, previewing new releases and hobnobbing with celebrities.

Old releases are finding new life in our warehouse. In an effort to repurpose our overstocked CDs, we’ve begun measures to recycle common materials to reduce waste and space. Releases from our early days have a chance to give back by nobly stepping aside to make way for the new.

Today’s the day. We received the shipment confirmation last night for the first Break Even CD release in over three years. Everyone involved is very excited and the CD will be available beginning this weekend as The Blessed play through New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware. The CD is available now through Break Even Direct for $6ppd and will be available through our online retailers next month. Check back for updates and more content soon.
